Waa waa

Rather weedy sound, so will check out extra amplification and speakerage from local high wattage car stereo outlet.

Waa waa, made from Velleman kit MK113, from Maplin. Rather weedy sound - will check out megawoofers and megatweeters from car stereo shop Internals of waa waa
Waa waa is Velleman kit MK113, from Maplin. Needs 9V battery. Sounder is 8ohm, 0.2W. Unsure of max possible draw from driver circuitry - suspect slightly below desired 1kW - will have to perform a couple of simple tests to confirm this, though. May need power amp.

As assembly hasty, used old stationery box for protection, and bungeed battery box to side with stickies and insulating tape.

Blue blinky

Blue blinky - all I had to do was wire a switch in series with a battery holder for 12V of 1.5V cells. Blue strobe straight out of box.
All the blinky needed was 12V of 1.5V batteries in a clip-in holder (8 batts, 2 x 4) and a switch wired in in series. Holder for battery and switch, with white paper inside and insulating tape decorating is an old cotton bud carton from Tesco.

Managed to drop the wretched thing this morning, so had to arrive at Job Centre on siren only. Rotten luck! Still no work in intelligence for JJ!. Not even KGB! So, after resoldering wires, which were pulled off posts of switch by weight of battery during impact (rather stupidly stuck to switch, and thus wires, using sticky, so as to prevent rattle), running repairs to plastic (sellotape), binding down lamp to carton with taut insulating tape binding, added black and white safety string, in case of further drops. Battery holder is stickied to lid of carton to prevent rattle (but not, now, to switch).

Am beginning to suspect I may have found the humour threshold of people in Norwich, as quite a few people openly displaying amusement. Normally quite a humourless lot, round here!

Have bought various colours of insulating tape to decorate my 'C90 Interceptor' in traditional style, and will probably attach blinky to top box with sticky velcro, for easy removal (as I have for the GPS compass I use on the front) - the thieves round here - I don't know!

Blinky is TK-34 Lynteck blue strobe flasher - 12V, 1W output, 180mA draw, also from Maplin. Switch is £0.49p spst basic. Happened to have a couple of M2 screws which fitted it.

Batteries by Poundland.

Right! Next job, surgical instruments - trepanning saw, blood filtration units, dialysis machines - I'll try B&Q first, I think!
